New Indian Rupee Symbol

Few days back, Official India Rupee symbol was approved by cabinet and here it is

The design of the new symbol is by Udaya Kumar, a student of the Industrial Design Centre (IDC) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB). It is a blend of Indian and Roman letters — capital 'R' and Devanagri 'Ra' which represents rupaiah, to appeal to international and Indian audiences. The design is based on the tricolour of the Indian Flag, with two lines at the top and white space in between and it was being said that this symbol will start appearing in keyboard in few months and is a long term process. But if you want to use the indian rupee symbol immediately here is a solution ,to download the India Rupee symbol font you need to visit the foradian technologies website. Copy this link on your browser to go to download page http://blog.foradian.com/font-with-indian-rupee-symbol-download-and-us.

This font installation process will take seconds only. Download the attached font Rupee.ttf or the new version Rupee_Foradian.ttf and copy the font and paste it in "Fonts" folder in control panel and that's it you are ready to use the Indian rupee font.
